ABOUT ME
Jasmine Prior is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores the delicate intersections between humans and the natural world—particularly the often-overlooked lives of insects and animals. Working across photography, ceramics, sculpture, and alternative processes such as cyanotype, her work seeks to bridge emotional and ecological connections between species, inviting viewers to reflect on their relationships with even the smallest living beings.
Raised in the countryside, Jasmine spent her early years collecting found objects and observing insects with a sense of wonder that continues to fuel her creative work today. This lifelong fascination with nature developed into a visual language rooted in empathy, personification, and quiet reverence for the natural cycles of life and death.
Jasmine completed postgraduate studies in the Fine Arts program at the University of Manitoba, where she expanded her material practice and conceptual framework. She is currently working on a project involving large and small-scale prints and immersive installations that explore themes of beauty, loss, and ecological awareness.
Through her work, Jasmine invites viewers into intimate moments of reflection—offering not only a visual experience, but also a chance to confront and heal from the quiet consequences of modern life.

I create from my quiet studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but find inspiration in traveling the world and spending extended visits with my family on their peaceful homesteads nestled in the prairie countryside.
